This has shown me that Calvin was a really weird a kid, painstakingly walking the lifeless Tiger all the way through the snow just to make him more real. Still, I can definitely relate the desire to create my own friends.
I think Hobbes is real; I don't show Calvin "walking" Hobbes. Rather, Hobbes is with him, a separate entity, except he looks like a stuffed animal. But for all we know, Hobbes is always where Calvin is without any needed effort for him to "walk" or carry him, although it often appears that way.
