About "Calvin and Tiger"
In the comic "Calvin and Hobbes," one notices that the tiger Hobbes' lively form only manifests when Calvin, his best friend, is alone with him. The presence of adults and other kids will make Hobbes appear to the reader in the form of a stuffed tiger doll. The reality of the lively Hobbes can only truly be understood by Calvin, which is why all other people fail to see him in his lively form. Through these comics, Calvin demonstrates a re-interpretation of his experiences with Hobbes, as seen through the lens of one who cannot understand Hobbes as he does.
